The team
Based in Lucerne and London, and powered by a team representing 30+ nationalities, our culture is defined by our ambition, adaptability, collaboration, and an unshakeable commitment to excellence.
Complementing TEAM’s established expertise in marketing UEFA’s Men’s Club Competitions, the Business Development team is now leading the way in developing new commercial opportunities for the TEAM group of companies and targeting prospective partners in sports.
The role
As a Sponsorship Sales Associate within the Business Development team, you will play an integral role in delivering sales results for TEAM’s clients as well as expanding TEAM’s network and market knowledge. Initially, your focus will be on developing commercial opportunities across a range of dynamic sports properties – including esports and football (excluding UEFA competitions) – with a view to supporting both existing clients and future partnerships.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
- Building marketplace knowledge by gathering client-specific industry data and staying up to date on emerging trends, brands active in the sports sponsorship landscape and evolving consumer habits and preferences.
- Identifying relevant categories and prospects, defining property- and brand-specific narratives and generating demand for the respective properties.
- Compiling comprehensive background analyses of prospective sponsors and their industry sectors.
- Creating market-leading sales materials tailored to target brands and incumbent sponsors, including information gathering, defining key sales messages and structuring presentation decks.
- Scheduling and supporting meetings with target brands or agencies.
- Developing, presenting and negotiating sponsorship proposals in collaboration with clients.
- Driving the sales process through all pipeline stages.
- Providing weekly and monthly forecasting and reporting to clients and TEAM’s senior management.
- Tracking and reporting on sales performance metrics, ensuring pipeline data is consistently up to date.
The candidate
You have initial experience in sponsorship sales – ideally in the sports industry – and are passionate about finding the best sponsors for clients. A good understanding of major players, competitors and market trends is essential. Your confident and collaborative approach enables you to contribute to selling, negotiating and building trusted relationships at all levels – both internally and externally with clients or target brands. With your analytical mindset and a solid grasp of key tools and frameworks, you are well equipped to connect the dots, uncover valuable insights and identify meaningful links between properties and brands. Your growing commercial understanding supports sales activities, and you are eager to build and expand your industry network to create and maintain a consistent flow of opportunities. Likewise, you can communicate effectively and present your ideas with ease, understanding the importance of delivering to the highest standards. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or a similar design software would be an advantage.
Additionally, you shine in the following areas:
- Adaptability: You are curious, resilient and open to methods and ways of working.
- Ambition: You aim high and support others in striving for excellence.
- Connection: You value collaboration, inclusion and long-term partnerships.
- Diligence: You deliver with integrity, accountability and consistent quality.
- Languages: You speak and write fluently in English; other languages are an advantage.
